Important: SaddleBrooke resident and professional singer, Leona Mitchell, who brought us the unforgettable "Leona Sings Judy" last season, returns to the DesertView stage in October with an all-new one-woman show, "Leona's Dames on Broadway", a tribute to the wonderful women and their songs of The Great White Way.
Leona, who played to a standing-room-only audience last March, and her husband and director, Doug Mitchell, have collaborated on this new production highlighting the incredible careers of legendary Broadway stars, Ethel Merman, Mary Martin and Carol Channing, singing some of their most popular songs. Leona, who had the pleasure of singing with the great Ethel Merman in two separate productions, takes us on a nostalgic and entertaining journey down the street of lights with songs from such classics as "Hello, Dolly", "Peter Pan", "The Sound of Music," and "Gypsy", adding personal stories and little-known tidbits about the stars' personal lives.
